Bio: Prof. Mythily Ramaswamy is an esteemed mathematician whose research interests lie in the analysis of differential equations and their applications to control problems. Early in her career, she worked onelliptic problems, the symmetry of positive solutions, and the viscositysolution approach to Hamilton-Jacobi equations. Since 2005, she has focused on studying control aspects of the one-dimensional compressible Navier-Stokes system, particularly in relation to fluid dynamics involving density and velocity. Prof. Ramaswamy has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis Medal (2020), the Fulbright-Nehru Award for Professional Excellence, and the Kalpana Chawla Award. She has held visiting positions at institutions like Virginia Tech and Toulouse University and is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and The National Academy of Sciences, India. She also plays an active role in national and international committees, including membership in the CIMPA Scientific Council and the BRICS Mathematical Conferences Scientific Committee. Nationally, she has served on the Scientific Advisory Board of IBAB, the Board of Studies at IACS, and several other important advisory and governing bodies in India.
